Re: Desktop settings reset in the middle of the session

Desktop settings reset in the middle of the session

Several times now, I've been in the middle of a session, when I have to run "cinnamon --replace" to get my desktop back up fine. However a few times now, when cinnamon came back up, it came up as GNOME Classic. A reboot fixed the immediate issue, but all of my setting were lost (window buttons on le...

Setting Wallpaper To Slideshow Using Bash

How can I setup my desktop to shuffle through images randomly and change them every x minutes? I'm using the standard included version of Cinnamon with Linux Mint 13.

[Solved] Sources Update Fail

The update manager now has the red "X" in it, for the first time ever. The problem is that when I try to update sources, it gives me this error: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/spring/ppa/ubuntu/dists/maya/main/source/Sources 404 Not Found Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/spring/ppa...

Re: UEFI Boot

Is there a special DVD I have to burn, or do I just normally boot from the SATA disc, as no UEFI boot is found?

UEFI Boot

What is the proper way of installing Linux Mint 13 in UEFI mode?

I would like to use the rEFInd Boot Manager (http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/) and Im using ASUS f1 a75m pro MOBO with the EZ/Advanced Mode BIOS.

Manually Installing New Kernel Image

I've been using Linux for around 2 years now, so I'm definitely not new to this process, but never before have I had the desire or need to do a kernel update. Today that changed, as I need a new kernel for various drivers, fixes, the usual. I would like to install the 3.5.4 Kernel from http://www.ke...
