[Solved] "Copy" deleted, now several startup-apps invisible

Since Copy (a cloud-thing, sort of like Dropbox) will cease to exist in May, I thought I'd already take my files and put them on an external HDD. So, after doing that, I right clicked the Copy-icon on the panel and removed it, then deleted all folders and files that I could immediately recognize as ...

Re: Thunderbird from terminal only?

Nothing unexpected. Right click the menu icon -> configure -> open menu editor (button at the bottom) -> go left to Internet: No deactivated entry? Bingo and fixed! Thank you Cosmo :) I guess I'm to blame for the unticked TB  since I haven't used TB in years I probably unticked this with my f...

What gives ll /usr/share/applications/thu* If you get a result (you should), go with your file manager into the folder /usr/share/applications right click thunderbird.desktop -> open with -> text editor. Re: Thunderbird from terminal only?

Did you use it at all? it had a profile as such? Did you add any extensions? Just trying to get an idea if this is a newly installed OS or is TB something you've only just used or customised or what? I haven't actually used it, but I did configure it far enough to import my gmail. In the week befor...

This would be strange, as TB comes pre-installed.
As I said - the memory gap may have fooled me here  and thus perhaps I didn't install at all but already had the default install then, like you suggest.

Re: Thunderbird from terminal only?

If I remember correctly it was via synaptic, some 2 weeks ago (hence the memory gap - after the install I didn't have time to look at any configuring and such).
I've got:
thunderbird 1:38.4.0+build3-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
thunderbird-gnome-support
thunderbird-locale-en
thunderbird-locale-en-us

There's no entree in the Menu>Internet - no icon in the panel either.
Any ideas?

Re: HDD looks mounted, but "cannot access xyz: No such proce

Normally I would place an EDIT in my last post, but the change in situation is quite drastic I believe. I inserted another external HDD (the most recent back up of the slightly older back up on suspected "broken" HDD) and it gave a similar error! I tried both HDDs on an old laptop, and there is no p...

[Solved]HDD looks mounted, but "cannot access xyz:No such pr

I have an external HDD that has been working perfectly, until today. Now I wonder if it is dying or even totally lost already. To me it looks like it is mounted, because I can cd to it in the terminal. But instead of showing the contents, there is this error message: ludo@ludo-desktop /media/ludo/08...

You need to point the symlink towards the drivers that you are actually using. ... There are two things different I see in my box. Dropbox icon still not ok in Mint 17.2

Searching for a solution to get the Dropbox icon back on the panel, one can find many posts dating from way back. Today in 2015 on Mint 17.2 the problem still seems to be persistent - all solutions appear to be temporary. I do believe the fix needed is on the Dropbox' side, not Mint's (I read that e...

To start with, I don't see where you get "Customize look and feel" from

But as you say, if stuff is too much mixed up, I'd probably leave all as it is anyway...

Re: How to load a dark GTK theme in Linux Mint Cinnamon

I just want a nice dark theme for all the borders and widgets of my UI. However, it doesn't matter what theme I select in "Customize look and feel" . They all seem to be overridden by "Themes" -> "Controls" ... I've been waiting a few days till someone gives you a clear answer on this, since it int...
