The readout.
You're attempting to install a modern operating system on an old machine so it's not surprising you're having issues. You would be better off to look for a distro geared toward old equipment.

There is no built-in support for that card. You will either have to download the source code and compile it or learn how to create alien packages and hope it works.

Basically, what I want to do is install Linux to a second disk without affecting the first disk at all.
Remove the first NVMe.

Whats the current way to wipe a HDD? I have been using DD. I read somewhere that was "old school" I 'm not wiping for security reasons.
There's nothing wrong with using dd. If you don't need to wipe the entire drive, just wipe the first few MB.

Re: conflicting advice on removing hiberfile

Thanks for your reply, vansloneker, but that's my problem - I can't get into windows to give that command. sudo ntfs-3g -o remove_hiberfile /dev/sdXy /mnt Where sdXy is the device identifier for the drive, and /mnt is the mount point. Be aware that you will lose any unsaved data in Windwoes.

Worse than Ookla where I did my first test. Ooklatest1.png Your ethernet card may be stuck in half duplex mode. Use ifconfig to determine the interface name, or use cat /proc/net/dev | awk '{print $1}' . Then use ethtool <interfacename> . You will get a list like this: ethtool enp6s0 Settings for e...

Big kudos and a large thank you to the member who built the 19.1 KDE version. I just installed and configured it and it is absolutely terrific! Every bit as good as Kubuntu, and has that Minty goodness. Personally I think you're mad installing a download from a completely unknown source. Edit: Good...
