Issue is fixed. Both of them..
Menu works great and without those strange "flickerings".
Thanks a lot! :)

Re: annoying beep at startup

How about motherboard (bios) beep codes?
Maybe it's not the system, but a hardware?

Exactly so. And by using the mouse wheel on that entry, those highlighting are flashing.

Re: [solved] mintMenu - after update to 5.5.3 became totally

Those "blinks" are non intrusive.
I just pointed this out, because I have not noticed this before testing mouse pointer problem.
They looks like this:
http://youtu.be/ZF8RHnyXY6Q

Edit:
I'm using compiz + metacity
Those blinks are with compiz turned on, but also with off.

Re: mintMenu - after update to 5.5.3 became totally unusable

Strange, but I can say, that mouse pointer hangs "one_time_pro_reboot". When mintMenu is killed and restarted, all works ok. Please try http://pastebin.com/Xjcajn4W in pointerMonitor.py, reboot and see if you can still replicate. Really sorry to bother you. It seems that mouse pointer is ok. No mor...

Fourth try.. hang on nvidia-settings Fifth -> gparted etc.. Every time launched program need a root privileges. When I run "normal" app (Ka...

Re: mintMenu - after update to 5.5.3 became totally unusable

Ok, I try.. This happens usually right after system start. When I try to open/run something that requires administrative rights - update manager, synaptic, root_terminal, gparted etc. Is it something like "Unexpected Error: time"? No.. Nothing like that. Here is my "terminal log": emce@BLASZAK ~ $ ...

Re: mintMenu - after update to 5.5.3 became totally unusable

Hi, I can't replicate the problem but want to test a possible fix. Do you want to help? If yes, do the following: 0) You'll need admin privileges to perform these steps; 1) go to /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintMenu and do a backup of the file pointerMonitor.py for safety (copy and rename); 2) copy and past...

Ok, I wrote about this problem here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=206&t=165066 But I think, this is better place for this post.. --- Hi. As in topic.. Re: Mint 13 System Requirements

@zolar1.. Install Win Seven first on Your machine, then as second install Mint. Grub should recognize windows on hdd and should add them to grub menu. Ps. Win Seven don't need GPT partition table. Just use normal MBR. Best way is using Gparted from live-cd/usb to create and format partitions on hdd,...

Re: Mint 13 System Requirements

You can easy install more than 8 gig's ram in this Asus.
I saw some working models with 12 or even 16 gigs.
Try a set of 2x8... G.Skill DDR3-1600s (F3-1600C11D-16GSQ)
No idea why ASUS says "8GB max" in their spec. ;)

Re: HELP!! "tasksel" removed my desktop and many application

Ok, here is some help to restore the system from "TTY_only" after tasksel removed important packages: sudo apt-get install $(for i in $(cat /var/log/dpkg.log |grep -oP "(?<=`date +%Y-%m-%d`\s\d\d\:\d\d:\d\d\sremove)\s\S*\s"); do echo -n "$i "; done;) Which basically looks in the dpkg.log for package...

EDIT: Got Mint Menu to mostly work. Now I'm just having problems with the themes. I go to customize colors, and it keeps saying "This control theme does not support color schemes", even on themes that previously allowed me to! In addition, it shows some windows in an ugly 'default' theme rather tha...
