Re: Need help from someone experienced with Electron Build please

OK, looks like it's actually yarn build at the end.
I got an appimage built inside the /Sunamu/target/ folder.
I can run the appimage, it runs in the background, but I don't know what it's supposed to do, so I'm not sure if it's working correctly.

Re: Need help from someone experienced with Electron Build please

Please note that I simply guessed Electron build. So the stuff below is also guesswork. It's a matter of reading through the documentation and trying things. Electron build requires Yarn: https://www.electron.build/#installation So first you go and install Yarn, which is a package manager for Javasc...

Re: Need help with a sunamu compile

but from what you are saying it appears it's a lot more complicated than that. It probably isn't; I just don't know what build system is used and what the instructions are. There is some info here to make an educated guess: https://github.com/NyaomiDEV/Sunamu/blob/master/electron-builder.yml I thin...

Re: Need help with a sunamu compile

I believe we looked at this before. I don't see any compile instructions given by the developer. Did they give you the instructions on the dev forum? Can you share? It does not seem to be using the familiar make or cmake systems. I don't see meson or ninja build systems either. It's an Electron app ...

Re: Joplin updates

What would happen if I, without unstalling the current Joplin desktop SW, install it again from the LM SW Manager? You would have 2 versions installed. Alternatively I could uninstall the current version and re-install from LM SW Manager. What would you propose and why? I'm guessing there is no dif...

Re: Jpeg Compression

There are a few options. You can use the Pix image viewer that comes with Mint. You can open an image, then "Save As", and choose Jpeg as the file type. Then you'll get a compression slider option: Screenshot from 2024-04-09 23-22-44.png You can also use the command-line tool convert . I t...

Re: Is it easy to change Ubuntu to Linux MATE?

Linux Mint Mate. Do I have to screw around with the bios? It comes with Ubuntu but I'm just used to Linux Mint Mate. All you might have to do in the BIOS is to boot into the Mint MATE USB installer. I'm guessing it comes with Ubuntu Gnome. Could you ask the seller to put Mint MATE on it, or Ubuntu ...

Re: Why so many DE?

In fact I had never stopped to reflect on the human side of open source.
This is by far the most important thing in my opinion.
Even the recent XZ backdoor happened due to this human factor.
A maintainer was overwhelmed and had health issues, so someone took advantage and socially-engineered him.

Welcome to the Forum.

Take a look at this: https://www.geeksmint.com/best-to-do-apps-for-linux/
Joplin (#1 on the list) is quite nice. You can get an appimage for it instead of Flatpak.

Just stop using "Computer".
It's a horribly designed useless thing.
You can hide its icon in Desktop settings.

Re: How to fsck 21.3?

I've tried with /dev/nvme0n1p2 and rebooting more than 5 times, but fsck doesn't start on boot. I use -i 1 and every morning when I boot, fsck does its job. Once a day. It might be working in the background. You can check your boot logs at /var/log/boot.log In order to see the fsck doing its work w...

Re: How to fsck 21.3?

Welcome to the Forum. You can use sudo tune2fs -c 5 /dev/sdxy where you replace /dev/sdxy with your device name. (It might also be /dev/nvme0nxpy if it's an M.2 or NVME drive.) This will force fsck at boot. Understanding: The -c means "count", so -c 5 means "after every 5 mounts do an...

Thanks for that. But what about: v5.03 says: "This package installs the stable version of WINE from WINEHQ, along with desktop files and libraries for WINE to work properly. This is the recommended way to install WINE within Linux Mint." v6.03 says: "Wine is a free MS-Windows API imp...
