Re: When did you come to Linux?
I started out with Mandrake in 1998 - which I purchased in a big package with a printed book and a stack of 5 1/4 discs. I progressed to PCLinuxOS and Mandriva, then Ubuntu, and finally Mint in 2008. There are certainly some other distros that I like - Peppermint, Korora, Netrunner... but nothing th...

Re: Duplicate desktop folder (Cinnamon)
You can see that the file shows the Desktop as XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Templates/Desktop" Change that to XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop" Then log out and back in. Test to be sure - but you then can safely delete $HOME/Templates/ Desktop You might have check $HOME/Desktop to make s...

Re: Cannot install 18.3 Cinnamon 64 on 4TB drive - won't boot
Any reason you can see for *not* going SSD for boot 'n swap? I have my root partition on a 128GB SSD, and the swap partition on the big HDD. With 8GB of ram, the swap is most likely never going to be used, so I can't think of any advantage to having it on the SSD. It would just take up room on that...

Re: Cannot install 18.3 Cinnamon 64 on 4TB drive - won't boot
Just to clarify... this tutorial does not solve my inability to boot a 4TB drive, but answers how to set up a "separate partition for boot loader code", correct? It could do both. If you set up the necessary partition for the bootloader, your installation should then work. And finally, th...
