Newly Installed the Mate desktop from iso and wish to completely remove Mate and switch to Cinnamon.

I prefer that one...

Solved this by adding Sox in Synaptic.

Then adding the command "play /usr/share/sounds/LinuxMint/stereo/desktop-login.ogg" in startup applications.

How do I add startup sound in LMDE XFCE????

I prefer the XFCE environment over Cinnamon but do like the login sound...

Is there a way to add this in XFCE?

I know you have to delete repo after install....

I am assuming that it's best to periodically activate repo and get product updates/security updates for both mint update and Cinnamon and then deactivate again?

Currently run LMDE and Wheezy on Asus laptop...

I prefer the update manager in LMDE to the one in Debian...

If I add the mint repo to stable install is it possible to add the Mint Update manager and would it work in Wheezy? Which packages would I need to install if it's possible if it's possible.

My partition table is below. sda4 is LMDE. At boot, I see Wheezy as primary boot option bot there is not LMDE. How can I add LMDE (which i installed on sda4) to show as a boot option?

If I have both Cinnamon and Gnome 3 with Wheezy I am assuming safest thing to do before I start this is remove Cinnamon while Wheezy is installed and then re-install it after process is complete and LMDE conversion complete?

My Wheezy DE is Cinnamon. I have already installed that.

I am just looking to convert a current Cinnamon Wheezy to LMDE???

Is this possible?
