Re: Warning! Do NOT buy SSDs from Amazon!
Bought a (New) Arris cable modem off Amazon. Went to register it and it only had a 90 day warranty? Amazon said it was refurbished and didn't carry the two year warranty. Went back into the page and it had been updated to say refurbished. I had a print out of the page where it said it was new. Crook...

Re: Linux Mint 21.3 “Virginia” – BETA Release
Anybody having a problem launching the two mintstick apps, Formater or Image writer? Sometimes they will not launch on my 21.3 OS. If I reboot they will then run. I've looked at the crash log file and don't see anything. Wayland is not turned on

Re: Linux Mint 21.3 “Virginia” – BETA Release
I'm using it for my everyday computer. Works great. Don't care for Wayland though. Too much of a hassle to use.

Re: Mint 21.3 with Wayland
Any program that asks for a password right away usually has issues in Wayland, Gparted, Synaptic, Software Sources but if you know the programs real name you might be able to run in terminal with sudo synaptic, or whatever Yeah, I figured that out. But what is so great about Wayland? I really don't...

Mint 21.3 Beta with Wayland
Been running Mint 21.3 Beta for a few days now and it runs great! My question is ... What is so great about Wayland? I really don't notice any speed changes. I do notice some apps will not run (like Gparted).

I would go back a Kernel and try that. Could be a bad hardware issue

Re: How do you guys know so much about linux?
I consider myself a beginner on Linux. I was a HP9000 admin for years and then I worked with Windows servers until I retired. I'm fairly good with Windows OS. I get better every day with Linux due to playing with it and wearing earplugs so I can't hear my wife yelling at me to get up and do somethin...

SOLVED: USB with persistence
Is there anyway to make a bootable USB drive with persistence prompt for a login on bootup? I understand that a bootable USB with persistence has the 'iso' on it and it is behaving like it should. I was thinking if you could boot into the 'suspended mode' you could then be forced to use a password t...

I had this happen awhile back. I ended up removing Gparted with synaptic and reinstalled it and it worked fine then. Just a suggestion

Done this a lot without problem until the other day. All I had to do is remove the NVIDIA drivers and then it was fine
