the easiest way is use terminal command :

Don't use torrent , and don't use download accelerator/manager.
I am just download one time from Internode ( australia ) mirror and md5sum is matched

Data out from exit node not encrypted. To use encrypted data, your computer and target computer (like webserver ) must have same encrypted mode. Example : if you use https in your browser , not all website supporting https, and to access those website you must use http . HTTPS is encryption method ....

The only driver you can use is open source radeon driver. The latest ATI legacy driver for this video card is 9.3 from 2009.
To use ATI 9.3 Catalyst you must use a kernel <= 2.6.28 and Xserver <= 1.5 ( ubuntu 8.10/Linux Mint 6}

I read in this , you need update kernel. You can use Mint update manager, open update manager, select edit>preferences . select level 4 and 5 .
Or you can used terminal command:

You can try edit OpenDNS Fallback file : /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.44

After that restart network-manager ( I think reboot is better ):
