Husse indicated that this command will not work in Elyssa, as X is reconfigured at boot-up. Try running the restricted driver or load the ATI driver using Envy. Running the Live Cd off my Toshiba Satellite and no issues to report. Using WPA2 Personal TKIP and connects just fine. Where does one find which version of Mint is running? Typically I would check in System Monitor but it does not show which Beta is running, just says Mint. I know, not important but...

Hmm...powered up the pc and its back to the 1024x768 reso....logged out/in and it still the same low res.

I switched to the Carbon theme....I had to shutdown pc, later on I rebooted. Now my resolution dropped down to 1024x768. Checked screen resolution under preferences and I know longer am able to choose 1680x1050. I ran the sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg but I was unable to retrieve the higher res...
