Re: How to rename 1000+ Word documents in Linux
But if you use Xfce, this is already included by default in Thunar(the file manager), simply select the files you want to rename right click select rename and you get lots of naming templates! Yeah really? And what do you rename the files to if you don't know what's inside and the only thing you ca...

Re: How To: Partition your Hard Drive.
but when someone makes a good working ext4 or btfrs driver for Windows then I'll keep everything on the Linux partitions. You could put your files on a NAS with a set of mirrored disks? If one fails, you still have the other disks. And those home NAS solutions one can buy or build one-self these da...

all my important files are on windows partition Sounds like a recipe for disaster  Just a few hours ago I could witness how a oh-so-rock-stable Windows 2008 R2 server crashed. You can jailbreak those. I've jailbroken my iPhone 3GS and this is the best small + mobile Unix-like device I've ever had so farAlbertP wrote:but with an iPod / iPad / iPhone you are bound to iOS.

Re: Oracle Frees OpenOffice
I see Google and Apple as far worse than Microsoft too, like Oracle... In that case you'd probably even be right, these two are bad. I don't like Google too much because in my eyes they have effectively created a fork of Linux: Android. Nothing against Android phones and that phone OS per se...

Re: How To: Partition your Hard Drive.
There is an hidden danger in partitioning the hard drive as a lot of space can be "lost for use" due to bad partitioning. In this time and age it is possible to resize the partitions if needed. The current partitioning scheme on my main desktop: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on ...

Yes, even KDE 4 is not a so great change after KDE 3... I understand what you mean ... the first KDE 4.x releases were a joke, yes. Re: Oracle Frees OpenOffice
Look how many people hated it when Microsoft removed the "classic" them from Windows 7. At least in Windows 7 Enterprise the "Classic Theme" is still in there. I don't know about the other releases of Windows 7 though ... I only know the Enterprise version for obvious reasons.
