Re: What I'm looking forward to in Mint 18.2
You're a bit too much into the Roadmap in some cases. Most of the sections there are only updated during the betas/RC's and are only one persons attempts to reproduce. They also aren't cleaned up in many cases until the next beta's/RC's. You also need to remember that Github is a developer side tool...

Re: What I'm looking forward to in Mint 18.2
Triaged.md is noted as being updated 17 days ago (= End of January). This bug had been marked at Github as "Bug reproduced" at the beginning of January and is in the meantime being closed. So far about "Can't reproduce". There are a couple of things you need to keep in mind abou...

Re: [SOLVED] Upgrade and change of desktop environment
@Cosmo is there some sort of Mint18 problems thread here on the forums or is it just generally spread everywhere?Hopefully Mint 18.2 (I have my doubts) or Mint 18.3 will solve the many existing problems.

Re: Update gone wrong? What happened to my linux?
From the looks of the theme, it almost looks like your gtk version was upgraded to a newer version. That is a lot what it looks like when you run a gtk theme meant for a version < 3.20 in 3.20 or higher.

Re: When is Mint 18.2 and 18.3 due?
Why only do I get the impression that asking for the Linux Mint roadmap is frowned upon? Because it is :) Github is not a forum. The Roadmap is essentially clem's list of things he would like to see done. It also shows things that have been done that maybe weren't part of the original "wishlis...

Re: LMDE2 Mint Y Theme
In Gtk2 applications it should be fine. That means it will work in most of the built in apps in the version of Mate in LMDE2. You will run into issues with Gtk3 applications though. Be aware that some things have issues with full dark themes that aren't fixable via the theme. When we do LMDE3, it wi...

Re: Pix and gThumb crash on "save as", Mint 18.1 Cinnamon
Thanks for opening the issue. I looked into it and the issue isn't caused by pix. It's caused by a bug in the exiv2 package shipped in Ubuntu 16.04. Thats why it affects multiple apps including Pix, gThumb, and Shotwell. You can see the relevant bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+so...

Re: Pix and gThumb crashes on "save as", Mint 18.1 Cinnamon
Gthumb was forked because it works poorly on Mint. Well not exactly. It wasn't forked because it was buggy or didn't work. It was forked because of the direction gnome has taken with it's choice of styling combined with the patches that Ubuntu then adds on top of that to make it work properly in Un...

Mint has a handy tool for this built in. You can simply navigate into the directory where your files live and type
Code: Select all
search for "whatever"

Re: Icons on desktop after launch Nautilus 3.18.5 on Mint 18.1
I have nautilus installed on Cinnamon with no issues. If you don't want it to show desktop icons install dconf-editor and disable org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons or just run
in a terminal
Code: Select all
$ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false

Re: Cinnamon theme gone dark in Fedora after Update
Mint-Y is just a GTK theme. If the GTK version from Fedora and Ubuntu 14.04 are similar, the theme should work. They aren't. Not even close. 14.04 uses gtk3.10 and Fedora 25 uses 3.22. In fact Mint-y won't work properly in either of those two. Fedora ships a new default dark theme in the Cinnamon v...

Re: [SOLVED] Mint-Y-Dark Theme - How can i change the sidebar color in Nemo windows?
Just a side note. The .css files in Mint-Y aren't really meant to be edited this way. They are generated automatically with a tool called Sass. By adding that .css file you are now adding conflicting theming for some elements as well that already exist in the main gtk.css file. It's possible you'll ...

You can check your muffin version by running
in a terminal. It should 3.2.2. If not make sure you are fully updated.
Code: Select all
muffin --version

Re: How to change the color of monochromatic icons of Applications Menu/Toolbar?
Part of what is giving me trouble following your explanation is the terminology you are using. There are two types of icons, full color and symbolic. The main difference being that the color of a symbolic icon is determined by your gtk theme. What led me to doing the following experimenting was erro...

Re: Launch player from sound applet crashes Cinnamon - menu effects
I pointed out your method to reproduce it in our private Slack channel and Cobinja piped up and said he would take a look at it. So thanks to him for doing so. The hold up on getting it fixed was a way to reliably reproduce it, which you provided. So thanks to you as well.

Re: How to change the color of monochromatic icons of Applications Menu/Toolbar?
When Inkscape and GIMP look for icons they want scalable and since other themes don't have those icons in scalable .svg files they go to the theme default which is Adwaita because Mint is gtk/gnome based. This is wrong. When an application looks up an icon in the theme it is looking for a certain s...

Re: Disable wallpaper gamma?
This is an issue that only occurs in some cases in Virtualbox. If Cinnamon is fully up-to-date install dconf-editor and navigate to org.cinnamon.muffin and change the value of background-transition from "blend" to "none" or "fade-in".

Re: { 18.1 Cinnamon } mouse scroll to jump one whole screen? like on macos, win 10, chromebook, all else
The OP wants to screen one page per wheel move (the last line on the page becomes the first one after scrolling). This option is most probably not available in Cinnamon. I can't find it. For the other desktops, I can't say. Ah, ok. The request wasn't explained very well. So something like doing a P...

Re: { 18.1 Cinnamon } mouse scroll to jump one whole screen? like on macos, win 10, chromebook, all else
I'm not sure why people are jumping on the OP. This is the newbie questions forum where people should be able to ask what they want without getting these types of comments. By scrolling one screen I assume you mean switching workspaces. One way to do this is to add the workspace switcher applet to t...
