Re: Looking for a segment of neofetch

It depends on your system. In your case it is likely it uses xprop for it. In the neofetch script itself it is determined in the function get_wm() in /usr/bin/neofetch The portion that you are interested in is probably this: id=$(xprop -root -notype _NET_SUPPORTING_WM_CHECK) id=${id##* } wm=$(xprop ...

Re: How improve interface of Application Manager?

Yes there is a way to change the layout a bit (do this at your own risk, the universe may collapse or even your pc). 1 . Edit mintinstall.py xed admin:///usr/lib/linuxmint/mintinstall/mintinstall.py Search for the number 351 and change it to 251. (you should find it twice) Save the file. 2 . Edit mi...

Re: Possible bug in LMDE 6

I tried to reproduce this on two LMDE pc's but they both exited gracefully with a notify as they should. It could be that this only happens when you do not have any snapshots yet.

Does

Code: Select all

journalctl | grep -i timeshift
yield any clues?

Re: New Messages When Shutting Down

Apart from the error in the log I noticed that the root partition of your system is pretty small. I am not sure whether that can play a role here too:
ID-1: / size: 24.44 GiB used: 17.57 GiB (71.9%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/nvme0n1p2

Re: New Messages When Shutting Down

I ran journalctl -b -1, but couldn't find anything at first so I used grep to find a couple of phrases: When you are in the journalctl display you can search with the / character. Type /exit_to_user_mode_prepare plus enter and it will take you there. Now you can scroll back with your arrow-up key t...

Re: New Messages When Shutting Down

Does command mintreport show any crash reports?
If not, can you find these errors with journalctl -b -1? If so it would be nice to see the start of this trace.

Re: Execute Script on graphical logoff

I think you can put the script in /etc/X11/Xreset.d/ I never tried it though. From /etc/X11/Xreset.d/README: # Scripts in this directory are executed as root when a user log out from # a display manager using /etc/X11/Xreset. # The username of the user logging out is provided in the $USER environmen...
