Re: Linux Mint E17
I did, had Bodhi 1.0.0 on the netbook for 2 months and in a VM until now. I like to be able to chose some of the settings/themes in the beginning (just like the Crunchbang Script) and it had a small footprint in the HDD, was fast and the E17 was pleasant on the eyes. Yea I liked that too but no ide...

Re: Linux Mint E17
I'm thinking I'll create a PPA of the e17 svn.lessie wrote:I'd love to see a linux mint e17 edition, would be more useful than fluxbox
Then you could just use it to install on the Main release.
You could then use one of the backgrounds installed with Linux Mint 11.

Re: Linux Mint E17
I don't think there will be an E17 version of Linux Mint since clem stopped the Xfce release based on Xubuntu. Well Debian only packages the e17 and the libraries needed for it, Some of the libraries aren't packed. I was trying to package the rest when I got stuck at elementary. Then today I tried b...

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Wow merlwiz79! That's awesome! :D I forgot to say it's running it's own custom Compiz Fusion in that screenshot. This is a custom session that loads my setting directory instead of the default. Those are system setting and not user settings. I still have some bugs to fix but it pretty much looks li...

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content
Glad that it's working for you. You might need to change the preferred application for the web browser. Just select the bottom one and then use /opt/firefox/firefox if you want to use firefox. For some reason it doesn't add firefox to the options. I can't find anything wrong with the package but som...

Re: Background not correct after updates.
Well the package dropbox actually installs dropbox-nautilus so that may be the problem.

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content
Ok try my menu and see if you like it better.
Extract and put somewhere you won't delete it.(save .menu to ~/.config/menus)
Just select Use custom file and point it to this one.(xfce-applications-custom.menu)

I have mintmenu installed but not dropbox.gideond wrote:There are only two things I can think of that may have triggered a Nautilus install. Those would be the Mint Menu and Dropbox. This is a test machine so I really haven't installed much on it.

Re: Background not correct after updates.
This is odd cause I just updated and Nautulis wasn't installed.
Maybe the package that recommended it to be installed was fixed.
Can you all list what you have installed since you installed Linux Mint Debian Xfce?
I have a vanilla install and for some reason I can't reproduce this problem.

Re: How to get Compiz-Fusion on Debian Xfce 2001104
merlwiz79 and asymmetros -- Tks much for the help. I added a few extra compiz files from Synaptic (compiz icon being one of them and reloaded win mgmt). I have compiz enabled now. Tks for the help. First time I've broken down and asked a question on any distro. A positive experience! TP Odd that yo...

Re: How to get Compiz-Fusion on Debian Xfce 2001104
I have the 260.19.44 so assume that's ok. Re engaging the Windows Decorator, realized that I can't engage anything on CCSM as the check boxes seem to be disabled and if I drill down on the gui besides the box I can change options or levels, etc but the "engage plug-in" button is dead. As ...

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content
I'll give clem a fixed menu and see if he can add it to the repos.
It may be awhile since the main repos are down.
Edit: Looks like they screwed up the name of the desktop files.
This will have to be fixed upstream.

Re: How to get Compiz-Fusion on Debian Xfce 2001104
I have a GeForce 8400 and the Compiz check comes out with all OK's. Thought maybe it could be a glitch as I've gotten it up and running on a couple of other distros but that was with KDE and Gnome which I guess were a bit more mainstream. I'll do some more poking around on this end as I know you ha...

Re: How to get Compiz-Fusion on Debian Xfce 2001104
Thanks for the tips on this and the bug fixes post as well. Everything seemed ok with the exception that compiz will not enable from the mint desktop option. (flickers a few times and still shows "disabled")I did change "enable compiz after log-in" and that didn't seem to make a...

Re: No more Xubuntu based Linux Mint Xfce.
+1, It's a shame that Mint 10 Xfce could not have come about. I am glad that things are looking better for you Merlwiz . :?: As Imhoteps said Xubuntu "Natty" is an excellent Xfce distro, although it certainly lacks the Merlwiz polish! :( Well the repo for Linux Mint Xfce 10 is still up an...
