Re: Do you guys have any opinion about the EFF project?

I no longer use HTTPS Everywhere (but I used it for a long time) as in Firefox you can enable HTTPS-Only Mode, in Privacy & Security settings, since last year I think. I've enabled it for all windows and that simply blocks all content in Firefox that isn't HTTPS. Any website that doesn't support...

Op het inlog scherm moet je dan Cinnamon kiezen als sessie. Er zou een icoontje rechtsboven waar je de inlog naam kiest moeten staan, als je daar op klikt kan je Cinnamon kiezen.

Re: List Top 10 Sizes in CWD by MiB

It's a lifetime ago that I did Perl scripting and it's clear from looking at your script I've forgotten most of it :o I stumbled across numfmt command a while back for some script I was doing. Not exactly your output but it comes close enough for me with this: du -b --max-depth=1 | sort -nr | tail -...

Je gebruikt daar Gnome Shell als gebruikersinterface — niet Cinnamon, MATE of Xfce waar Linux Mint standaard mee komt. Was het je bedoeling om Gnome Shell te gebruiken?

Re: Weird "stuck pixel" in centre of desktop

The pixel is a hidden window, used to let Sticky respond to things like Alt+Tab. It should be off screen. Why it's not will be investigated. I think I figured out a workaround. First, install wmctrl if it's not installed ( apt install wmctrl ). Then with Sticky minimized to the status icon (that is,...

Re: Weird "stuck pixel" in centre of desktop

I tried it out on VirtualBox, booting from the Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon ISO. After setting the desktop background to solid black and starting Sticky—which has no notes in it—a single white pixel appears in the middle of the screen. If another window is open there the pixel will initially overlap tha...

Is that not the answer? Did you have another package manager open or doing something. Like Update Manager, Software Manager, Synaptic Package Manager or another one. Close that other package manager.

As this has moved away from being a support request for Linux Mint, I've moved it here and updated the topic subject.

Re: Good linux based YAML & Python IDE?

Does it create hidden characters in the files it saves? […] Notepad on Windows left hidden characters at the start of YAML documents […] to provide formatting information for the plain text. Xed won't put weird characters in files. File format is inferred from its contents, not from any hidden bull...

Re: Neovim 0.5

You can use the AppImage, download from the releases page on https://github.com/neovim/neovim. Or compile it from source using the instructions there. I don't think such a bleeding edge version is available through other means yet. It will likely become available on Linux Mint through Software Manag...

I've edited this line the script above: sed -r "s/username/${username}/g; s/password/${password}/g" "$masterfile" > "$outputfile" I put double quotes around $masterfile and around $outputfile. See if that makes a difference. And mind that as written the script assumes t...

This is a bit low effort. If you look on the Bitdefender website you can find out it does not support Linux: https://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/t ... urity.html

If you need Bitdefender Total Security you need to use a different operating system.
