Code: Select all

sudo chown jerry:jerry -R /media/jerry/EXT4
An another way:

Code: Select all

sudo chown -R $USER:$USER /media/jerry/EXT4
Thank you! That worked. It must have been a group ownership problem.

If I may, why does the EXT4 partition mount as root being the owner on my other computer (desktop)?

Re: Is Linuxing easy?

Welcome to the forums! I think you'll find a lot of members here who weren't linuxers. I'm three years in at the moment. Like you, I was a Windows guy (since Windows 95, maybe a little bit pre-95). In my opinion, yes, Mint is the best for me. I've tried Ubuntu, Linux Lite, and a few others. Clevo se...

[SOLVED] Can't create folder without being root

Hello all, I have a Toshiba external 1 TB USB drive that I've partitioned in half using Gparted. File system on the first partition is EXT4 and the other is NTFS. When I plug in the drive, both partitions mount. Unfortunately, on the EXT4 partition I can't create folders/files nor can I move/copy to...

Code: Select all

apt --you can write any kind of nonsense here

Re: Did I mess up using autoremove?

apt doesn't actually have a --help parameter, just run apt without parameter for the same effect. Mine does $ apt --help apt Usage: apt command [options] apt help command [options] Commands: add-repository - Add entries to apt sources.list autoclean - Erase old downloaded archive files autoremove -...

Re: Teamviewer not found in Software Manager

Is it me or Teamviewer can't be found in Software Manager? I usually download it from there but can't find it now. What could be the reason? In order for TeamViewer (or any other app that's not in the usually repositories) to have appeared in Software Manager, you would have had a PPA to point to i...

Samsung 860 EVO 250GB (currently it is just sitting as a 2nd drive, empty). MSI GA...

Lets replace all of programs from a normal install with their Flatpak versions.

So, what does everyone think? Is it a good idea going foward?
