What is that theme? I like it better than "Black Shine" that is running a little too dark for me.

Re: Brasero won't make a DVD movie..?

If you're running Cinnamon or Mate don't worry about the extra KDE libraries being installed. They won't do any harm, they are just needed to run K3B. it's install is something over 80Mb in Ksupport files, - but K3b does work better with blank disk's than Brasero does. Well put. Installed on XFCE a...

Re: Bug in Gimp with font antialiasing

Hello sakralbar . I can confirm this happens with GIMP2.8 on my install of Mint 13 (so not LMDE specific) - obviously a bug but I don't see any bug report. I have never noticed because I make black text on a white background and invert if needed to have white text - in that scenario the white text a...

Just a comment: Google Chrome is a spyware browser, but Chromium is not. = FUD Much of the so called spyware is to increase the usefulness of the browser for the user - the concerned can turn it off if they want: http://mashable.com/2013/11/12/opt-out-data-tracking/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RLZ...

Re: How to use Java in Firefox

Hi trope . It looks like things are a bit muddled with a mix of Oracle and Open java on your setup. Firstly the disadvantage to installing Oracle java from the tutorial (aside from the possibility of making a mistake in any one of the many steps), is that you will manually have to install an updated...

Re: screen freezes for 2-3 secs every couple of minutes - LM

Sorry - no help. Surprised that bug is still around. I had the same issue a couple years ago with Chromium - it comes and goes for a few users depending on version #. A little Googling shows it affects Windows as well. I abandoned it finally for a more stable browser and never looked back. Maybe the...

Does it happen with GPU compositing disabled?

Address bar - chrome://flags>GPU compositing on all pages - change from Default to Disabled. Restart browser.

Long time ago I visited the phpBB forum to see what the problem is and it looked like the solution was to have the Forum administrator make adjustments to the function - but it is a constant maintenance and not just a one-shot. It looked like more work than running down kitchen spamers. I have to ag...

Re: can't install flash plugin: Unknown channel 'petra-partn

Many are confused by Chromium, thinking it is the Linux version of Chrome - the article I pointed to should help clear that up. I do not use Chromium and only keep Chrome to check a site that may behave weird in Firefox but I think you can still keep your Chromium when you install Chrome. Just go to...
