i tried to add that line to my raspberry pi machine, but it didn't work. i figured since they are both based on debian it would work. oh well

I can't connect from linux mint or from raspbian any longer. re-enabling SMBv1 on windows 10 brings share access back, but i know there are security issues with SMBv1. i've t...

Re: new partition not owned by me?
thanks, makes sense i guess. now i am wondering why i never had this issue before?? oh well.all41 wrote:When you opened gparted you had to enter admin password and therefore had elevated privileges.

Re: purge not removing config files
Hi callmejoe, You're using the command correctly, I don't think package management ever touches anything in the users home directory, so any files created by the app's first run (like creating config files in your home directory) will not be removed by purging and would have to be deleted manually....

i've made a persistent linux mint 18.1 live usb with unetbootin. if i boot my PC and bring up the boot order menu (F12) i can choose the USB. unetbootin menu screen comes up, choose linux mint, and boots up fine. from there if i choose to restart the PC (soft boot) and don't bring up the boot order ...

If you just edited grub.cfg it would be changed when linux did some updates. will give you 2 links to look at.
