Re: Problem with KNetworkManager and Screen powersaving
so far for mint KDE 4 releases I have replaced Knetworkmanger with the gnome network manager.
They look vastly different and on the wireless side the gnome NM works while the KNM was under heavy dev.
Cheers

Re: Problem with KNetworkManager and Screen powersaving
The first obvious point is I have not released Linux mint 9 KDE yet.
I do have some unstable KDE packages in the repo though.
they both sound like KDE problems you could update to KDE 4.4.3 via the kubuntu backports repo or ppa repo (both ppa repos).

Re: Kaffeine no picture LM8 KDE x64
I can only think it could be the xine config. can you right click the display and change the xine setting? I would think gstreamer would be the same. could there be a codec missing or it is using the wrong one? I have seen similar before and the fix was right click, settings, video, set to X11. Chee...

Re: 32-bit or 64-bit KDE first?
There will be no iso to test until the RC is ready. I have started on the isadora KDE packages that are in the isadora-kde repo (unstable). http://packages.linuxmint.com/list.php?release=Isadora-KDE clem has stared on the isadora packages too. Some KDE packages are dependent on the isadora repo. So ...

I have started development on Isadora KDE. Installed Kubuntu 10.04 Beta1 and started building/updating mint packages. Re: gigantic resolution Mint 8 KDE
if randr can not determine your screen and its resolution it will use the lowest.
ie 800x600 or 640x480.
using a KVM can also cause this if you boot and the KVM is not set to the booting computer.
booting a system headless and then pluging in a monitor will do the same too.

Check all your levels are up via the gui mixer.
in a terminal run alsamixer and check nothing is muted or set to 0.

Re: FileSystem Missing Under Places (snapshot)
you could have right clicked on the filesystem (disk) and clicked the hide check box accidentally.
right click on the places and choose "show all entries" tick box.
then right click on the filesystem and un tick the hide check box.

Re: System boot up problem
Hard drive info would be handy. but what i guess is that the your hard disk and thumb drive adn cdrom are all sd? (sda/sdb/sdc) drives and their sd? numbers have changed between install and booting off the thumb drive. so you have to edit the menu.list in grub on the thumb drive and change it from s...
