Deleted Steam. Reinstalled from the Software Manager (Mint's repos), IT WORKS on my desktop.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't want to end up getting bill or having my net surfing constantly interrupted by ads.

Is there a set of files I can copy from my desktop to my laptop to effectively copy my Cinnamon DE settings (theme, panel, taskbar, etc) to my laptop? I am frustrated by my laptop and can't quite reproduce the look.

Lately, Dropbox has been popping up with a request to download the app. I have done so and it doesn't stop asking no matter what.

Any ideas to stop this?

So why not just open Synaptic Package Manager, search for "libc.so.6" without quotes. Now truth be told on my machine. It found nothing ( LM 20.1 Cinnamon), but my steam works correctly. But..I did find a good bit of libc6 packages. Worst case is that I'm wrong in my theory and you're sti...

I have a 9-year-old grandson who is very adept and is learning coding. I'd like to introduce him to Linux, but I fear that even Mint might be a stretch. Is there a Mint for children or another such distro?

Answering this myself:

df /home_backup

gave me the partition; it was the old partition, which is fine for a while.
