Re: All Desktop Screenshots - October 2014
Thanks. Sorry for the late reply, it's been a little while since I've logged on the forums. I cannot guarantee the login screen will properly conform to your monitor, I adjusted the object placement reference values to fit my laptop at a 1600X900 resolution; I have no idea how it will look on diffe...

How do I change individual folder color? (w/pic)
Hi, I have Cinnamon 2.4 installed on my Linux Mint 17 LTS Qianna and I'm liking it. I have changed my folder colors from the default green to grey, but... I cannot figure out how to change an individual folders color to make it more prominent. Any tips? In the picture below, notice the folders are d...

Re: All Desktop Screenshots - October 2014
Running Mint 17 Cinnamon Didn't do anything with the Linux Mint theme; it's pretty good as is. However, I modified the "Mint Pro" login screen theme significantly to suit my taste. Is it just me, or is the stock login screen just plain terrible in comparison to how great the rest of the d...

I suggest updating more frequently. Give your MInt some love and she will take care of you in return.

Re: Missing date on screensaver / screen lock
In Mint 17 this is now handled under Cinnamon Settings->Date and Time. Choose what you want under the Date Format heading. This setting now affects alot of things. It will change the format used by the calendar on the panel but you can fix that by right clicking the applet, choosing configure and t...

Re: Howto: Remove Fortune messages in the Terminal
Hello. I am really brand-spankin' new to all of this, as a dearly beloved grandson put Linux Mint 10 on my computer, to help me, after our hard drive was "fried". I used my "terminal" for the very first time, today, attempting to research and resolve a problem with my right-clic...

Re: Folder "Videos" deleted
If I understand you correctly, you have deleted 'Videos' folder in your home folder. You created a new folder called 'Videos' in your home folder. Your problem is that you don't see the 'Videos' folder in 'Main Menu' under places, or in the left column of Nemo. If this is correct, this might be easy...

Missing date on screensaver / screen lock
I am using Linux Mint 17 RC and loving it! I have noticed when the screensaver / screen lock is activated the time is the only thing that appears. On Mint 16 it would show the time with the date underneath (I believe). Do you know how to get the date back? I have tried adding %A %b %_e, %Y and diffe...

Re: Panel Menu Not Responding to Mouse Clicks
Hmm, I have experienced a similar problem myself and it turned out to be my mouse. Some clicks were working, some were not. Left and right click. I just replace battery in mouse and problem fixed. I hope this will fix your problem but may be something more serious. Other things I would try.. 1) rebo...

Re: Cinnamon Bottom Panel is starting in the wrong position
Hi, I would reboot laptop computer. At login screen, under session choose 'Cinnamon.' Enter your password and log in to desktop. Since you are using an external monitor, I have found out that sometimes the Cinnamon desktop does not align correctly on the external monitor. You can fix this easily. To...

Re: Cinnamon crashes when I connect a second monitor
For what it's worth, this is how I do it (and it doesn't crash) on Linux Mint 16 and 17. 1) shutdown computer (mine is a laptop). 2) I connect laptop to monitor (52" flatscreen) which I watch movies on. One video cable and one sound cable (no HDMI) 3) I turn on laptop and monitor (tv). 4) On mo...

Re: cinnamon configuration problem
1) look in system settings for languages and remove the ones you don't want/need and use only the one you want. 2) there is no way to manually pick a color and change the color of your folders. The only way I know of is to install different icon themes and use their colored folders. Faence has blue ...
