Re: How do I watch 4K videos on YouTube?
Yes. The video's I'm currently viewing are available in 4K (2160p) as an option if you have the hardware and software at your disposal to do it. My current monitor is 24-inches but only goes up to 1080p. For example, I was watching this video in Japan shot in 4K: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHFI...

Three questions about an external hard disk drive
I have an extra external USB 500GB hard disk drive that I'm not currently using that I've had for a number of years now. I have three questions about it. 1) I'm wondering if this thing is just a regular, standard, conventional hard disk drive with a spinning platter or a solid state drive? It is a T...

I lost the sound coming from my speakers
Hello, I lost the sound coming out of the speakers connected to my desktop computer. The speakers are connected to the tiny jack on the back of the PC but I only get a 'hum' noise out of the speakers now whenever I tap the end of my fingertip to the end of the metal speaker jack plug. That seems to ...

Re: I'm having problems installing Mint 19 to an old laptop PC
At the "Dell" start up screen, I selected "F12 boot options". That sent me into a "Boot Manager" screen and I selected the "CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive" option by highlighting it with the up and down arrow key and then pressed the enter key on my keyboard. The laptop p...

I'm having problems installing Mint 19 to an old laptop PC
Hi, I'm trying to install Mint 19 "Tarah" to an old laptop PC I have. I finally managed to get the .iso image burned onto a DVD disc. When I put the .iso image disc into the optical drive on the old laptop, it won't boot into the new disc image, instead it just boots into the old Mint 18 &...

Re: Which version of Linux Mint do I need, 64-bit or 32-bit?
Here's what I found about laptop number one:
Dell Inspiron 3521 - 15.6" - Pentium 2127U - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB HDD
Operating System
Windows 8 64-bit Edition
So I guess it's a 64-bit processor. I'm going to look up what my other older laptop is too.
