Saving modified touchpad scroll area?

Postby Tony G » Tue Apr 08, 2008 11:19 pm

Hey all,

I'm running Darnya KDE on a laptop (hence the post here). The default vertical-scroll area on my touchpad is so large that I accidentally scroll through the taskbar when I mean to mouse up. I have tried installing g- q- and k-synaptics to fix it. Only k-synaptics seems to have the ability to resize the scrolling area, but after a reboot, it resets to the default configuration. This is a known bug in k-synaptics. I've tried the workaround in comment 10 and comment 11, but no dice.

Has anyone successfully fixed this, or does anyone read code well enough to see what's missing from the proposed workaround?

(If it's bad form for me to have posted both here and at launchpad, please let me know, and I'll delete this post).

Thanks as always,

it is good you posted here, at least others will know about it now.
I only ever used ksynaptics to turn off pad tapping for click.
I'll have to check it out on my laptop.

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
