Elyssa - KDE: problem with window frames solved

Postby big_dog1968 » Tue Sep 09, 2008 6:05 pm

Lately when I launch programs, the border at the very top is missing. There is no way to resize windows. It started off happening intermittently, but now it is happening more frequently.

Any ideas?

Also, how can I make it so my number key pad stays on from boot to boot without having to press the num-lock key every time I boot?

This is a problem with some themes and Compiz
Some themes don't even have a title bar....
It was such a long time since I last answered a question about this that I've forgotten the detailed answer
Play with the compiz settings and it may also help to install Emerald the compiz theme manager

Code: Select all

apt-get install emerald
Image
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

I have that exact problem with KDE themes. Installing emerald themes, using the Compiz-Fusion icon cured that problem.

One issue remains, when I either restart KDE or reboot, I have to reload window manager to get Compiz to work. A bit annoying, since everything else work correctly.

Thanks for the replies. I have emerald installed already. The problem seems to have resolved itself. We'll see.
