Fingers crossed. I assume that if I install the RC version, once it goes final, running mint update will update me to the final version, correct?

Once they are approved for RC release and are available on the mirrors then you have the Team's blessing to test them to your heart's content. And yes, normally (unless there is a catastrophic bug) you just apply any updates up to the final release and you are there. No reason to reinstall.

Ok this is probably a silly question, but where are the mirrors for 17? I'm not seeing it.

MATE

notice the ATI and Nvidia chipsets are still untested, and that's a biggie.

All things go better with Mint. Mint julep, mint jelly, mint gum, candy mints, pillow mints, peppermint, chocolate mints, spearmint,....

same as for the other versions. I just checked 2 in Netherlands and another elsewhere and 16 is the last iso uploaded to them, so they aren't available yet for download.

If you look a the entries for Petra that were approved for stable release, they are listed as untested there as well. So, it would seem that this isn't a holdup.

If Cinnamon 64bit is approved for RC, does that mean that we can download it from somewhere?

No not yet. They will announce it on the Linux Mint blog when it is ready. and BTW means release candidate and so not suitable for full installation :D

Nope, your previous post was correct. Looks like we're only waiting on approval for 64bit MATE. The rejected ones are previous builds.

What're the odds Qiana will support a Linux (native) RAID (LRAID) install & boot?

How about XFCE edition? :-) How long it usually last before its released? I mean after the Mate/Cinnamon editions.. Cant see any testing ongoing within the iso images page..

Downloaded and installed the Cinnamon 64 bit RC which is working nicely on my PC. Very quick and easy install, no significant issues to report.
