For now, the i386 versions are still not ready. Therefore the iso may be available in a few days whn everything will be ready.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

I love it! It adds some personality to the distro, IMHO. Plus, I get to talk of the distro as a "she" rather than an "it". :)

That being said, I usually add the version number as well, unless I'm talking to someone I know has been around Mint a while and won't be confused by names vs. release numbers.
Maybe it's my age, maybe it's the fact I don't really care but I prefer the numbering system. That's a system I can remember very well.
Could it be Fred, that for you it is a nice way of controlling a "she"?

Most likely only after the 32 bit versions are also ready.

Seriously, mate?
Are you really going to imply that I have the need to control women? Just because I'm a guy and I like the tradition of naming these releases after women?

And no, actually, I like the tradition of naming them after women as an honour to women--it's recognising their beauty. ;) But I'm old-school like that.

Not so seriously, please. Maybe I should have put a sarcasm face to it, or simply write the word sarcasm in the text.
It was intended as a joke, but obviously I'm not good at making those. I do apologize.
Have fun with your she-releases, I just stick to the numbering system. It's easier for me.

All

I see both Mint Mate and Mint Cinnamon were just released for Beta testing and I'm assuming this is for public testing.

Could someone post the link to these Betas (I'm eager to try Mate out).

Thanks

AFM

Oh YES!

Very, very nice!

I'm typing this using the Live version of 18 Sarah Mate x32.

Superb job, well done team!

Perhaps 'Sarah Mate' sounds strange? Perhaps it should be Matey?

Hi dancingdog777, I've installed the 64 bit cinnamon beta of Mint 18 on my laptop and it is working quite well for me too. There were some little visual glitches during installation and first reboot but the desktop is working very nicely.

The 32 bit Mate had no glitches and was as smooth as silk. In the Live session I was even able to amend F/fox to include adblock plus and to d/load flash plugin from Synaptic. I'm glad I bookmarked the download site too before that link was removed.

As I said before, excellent job Clem and team, very well done! Thank You!
