I'm not sure the SHA256 sums have been updated. I downloaded the 64-bit MATE ISO image from multiple mirrors, and I'm seeing the SHA1 sum as a3eab4bbcb22a8a0881e91070d43e40487fc6fc2. However, according to https://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/linuxmint ... 256sum.txt, it should be 1e5110d58794634ba935678825ce0d5279daa03d41c81226a871e8497e3cc35a instead.

EDIT: SHA256, not SHA1.

There aren't any SHA1 hash digests to be updated. They're SHA256.

Sorry, that was typo. I did mean SHA256.

sha1sum -b linuxmint-18.2-mate-64bit.iso will return a3eab4bbcb22a8a0881e91070d43e40487fc6fc2.

sha256sum -b linuxmint-18.2-mate-64bit.iso will return 1e5110d58794634ba935678825ce0d5279daa03d41c81226a871e8497e3cc35a, as per the sha256sum.txt file.

DEFINITELY the best yet.
I have been an active pc guy since getting my first one in 1998. I had become totally unhappy with windows and not knowing there was an alternative I had pretty much lost interest in computers. I discovered linux with Mint 6 or so. What a revelation! Computers could be fun! I derive great pleasure in installing operating systems. I have Installed SCORES of nonwindows OSs. I marvel that some folks punish themselves by using wonky systems like Debian, Redhat, and others. Ubuntu made the breakthrough(kind of wonky though) and Mint perfected it. Mint with Mate is the ultimate solution. Thanks Mint developers you are BEST.
I don't know much - but at least I know what I don't know
