Thanks Clem! I've upgraded today and so far all is OK. I'm typing right now from Sonya Xfce.
*update: I had to fix brightness and volume keys adding acpi_backlight=vendor in grub. A minor issue, for the rest all is working great. I didn't notice any increase in memory usage.

Thank you very much for continuing to support what might be your least popular desktop option. I'm guessing that half of the Xfce users choose it due to hardware constraints, half choose it because they really like it, and... uhh... half probably fit both categories. So, while it's probably extra work for (relatively) few users, those who use it undoubtedly really appreciate that work.
