Congratulations to all involved.

MATE 19 is pretty sweet. So is Xfce 19 though it still has the clock disappearing bug I mentioned on the blog. But both have better ram use now than when I tried the betas, and suspend works properly on Xfce, something I was concerned about with the beta. I only tested Cinnamon for a short while early on, and it was the most solid of the betas then, so I imagine it's pretty nice as well now.

Not quite - looks like there is also a tiny bit of clean-up to do.....instructions appear to be the same for all Beta desktops...

From
Cinnamon - https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3597
Mate -https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3598
XFCE - https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3599

Code: Select all

apt remove ttf-mscorefonts-installer
apt install libreoffice-sdbc-hsqldb sessioninstaller ttf-mscorefonts-installer xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
sudo rm -f /etc/systemd/logind.conf
apt install --reinstall -o Dpkg::Options::="--force-confmiss" systemd
sudo rm -f /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla
For custom Nemo actions, useful scripts for the Cinnamon desktop, and Cinnamox themes visit my Github pages.

Trying to install xserver-xorg-input gives the following error: E: Unable to locate package xserver-xorg-input

PS: My mistake - on the blog page the code has auto-hidden scroll bar, so I've missed "synaptics".

I cannot express my gratitude for all of you that make this happen nearly adequately. I will donate again as soon as I am able. What, you, Clem and everyone bring to the table with all of this is such a blessing.

I will wait to upgrade/update once the instructions for going from 18.3 becomes available. This past year or so of living in the Linux/Mint universe has been so great, I don't know if I will ever miss that Redmond product (I don't want to seem unkind to them, but still), my life improved when moving to this ecosphere.
I've been using Mint for over 4 years, but I'm still a slow learner. I have a website: https://pickfetish.com. It is dedicated to guitar/instrument picks.
