I just got done doing a wipe-n-install of LM 19 Cinnamon. I'm certain Clem, et al, have done a magnificent job migrating from the beta release and prior ones, but I've been at this game far too long and I've seen far too many things to want to go that route, no matter how nice it is.

Anyway, I was 100% happy with the beta, and now I'm still totally in love with the final release.

Good work, everyone.

This looks great, and I can't wait to put it on my daily driver, but I've got too much time in my current setup to do a nuke-and-pave. When can we expect the upgrade from 18.3 option to become available?

From yesterday I use 19. It's great and I personally like it more than 18.

The bad thing is that when I use nvidia the laptop does not wake up and remains with a black screen - now looking for a solution to this problem.

Great job! 8)

Well Clem, I am not one that is completely happy with Linux Mint 19 release. Blindly the Developers have installed what was thrown at Linux Mint with out checking if all library components worked. I am referring to “libsane1 (1.0.27-1~experimental2ubuntu1)”, how come the developers used it. May of loyal Linux Mint users are now unable to use their scanners due to this stuff-up. I am aware it’s not only a Linux Mint problem but affect other discos based on Debian/ Ubuntu.
What's next get rid of MATE or Xfce as you did with Linux Mint KDE.

First, instead of venting your spleen, describe the problem. Second, this is an Ubuntu problem. What makes you feel that Mint is responsible for issues caused by Canonical?

Well, it's the Mint team's decision what to take from Canonical and what not. But of course they based Mint on Ubuntu because they did not want to compile an entire distro from scratch - they don't have the resources for that and it's ridiculous to expect them to have tested every single library. If he has a problem with that, go find another distro, because it ain't gonna change.

Since the kernel update I've a black screen after the boot. I see the initial splash screen but not the desktop. I can switch to a console with CTRL-ALT-F1 and login. I checked in /var/log/Xorg.0.log but there is no error ...
Is there other people with the same problem?

There are a lot of people with the same problem. 4.15.0-24 is one of the worst kernels I've seen. Use 4.15.0-23 for now and you should be fine.
