Run

Pleas read the information posted by clem very carefully. If in doubt, post on a separate thread to get proper support as this one is for "Releases and Announcements".
Good luck!
sudo apt update
, if you haven't done before and try again. If still not there, you can get it from: http://packages.linuxmint.com/search.ph ... intupgrade

That's why Clem's instructions say to switch to the default mirror. Please follow the instructions carefully or bad things may/will happen.

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 19
Hi there,
Any chance to be able to upgrade without the timeshift procedure?
I'm doing 'mintupgrade prepare', but diskspace's running low for snapshots and fresh install is not an option.
Thanks!
Best regards.

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 19
Timeshift is only there to allow you to roll the upgrade back in case something goes wrong. You can skip the timeshift step if you want to take the risk, but with you saying that a fresh install not being an option I'd be very careful with that decision.
Note that timeshift can also backup to an USB stick (once formatted as ext4).

It took a while to download, and install, but it worked like a charm. Brilliant, and Thank you.

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 19
I get an error:
when running mintupgrade check. I DID run timeshift onto a thumb drive, so why am I getting the error and how do I proceed?

I've been using Mint for over 4 years, but I'm still a slow learner. I have a website: https://pickfetish.com. It is dedicated to guitar/instrument picks.

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 19
It seems I didn't have spare drive space due to the timeshift stored files, so I've removed them, I used aptik to back up elsewhere anyways. downloading now.

Excellent! Worked perfectly!!
Thanks to Clem & the entire Mint Team for a great release, and a smooth, easy upgrade path!
Now... just waiting for my Mintbox Mini 2 Pro to appear!

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 19
After the removal of the timeshift files giving me back space, upgrade went perfectly. Now running 19.0 Tara. Took quite a while though, even on ssd.
