Ran into a minor glitch that I think was related to a temporary slow internet connection to the update servers. I kept getting a "Upgrade failed - please check your internet connection and try again". After refreshing Update Manager, I saw all of the new packages, so I updated manually and everything seems to be working.

Clem, thanks again for a great OS!

If you do an in-place upgrade using the Update Manager is it necessary or advisable to uninstall software from outside PPAs & repos and remove the repos & PPAs from Software Sources before doing the upgrade?

Several years ago when I used LM and Ubuntu it always failed. This time I had Brave, LibreOffice 7.0, Audacity, WineHQ, KiCad and Google Earth and I removed them all first and the upgrade only took a couple minutes with no problems. I was expecting to have to do a fresh install but I guess I got lucky.

No, otherwise the instructions would say so. Just follow them.
Furthermore, please do not ask support questions (such as this one) in an announcement topic, as stated above at the top of the page in red letters. Thanks!

Upgrade was a little glitchy, saying I needed an internet connection, which I had just fine. This was when it was trying to do the new version of Update Manager.
When I saw all the packages there I was able to install them all just fine. It also had an error on a locked dkms file it said, after refreshing it showed it all and installed just fine.

The upgrade on the boss's machine went without a hitch. I also installed usrmerge as suggested. I think she might enjoy using Hypnotix!

As I drag out the Staples Red Button and press it, the strains of "That Was Easy"can be heard. :D No really, took only a few minutes from start to finish. Now if only upgrading from LM 20 to LM 21 would be as easy. :)

Have the glitches with AMD/Radeon screen tearing been fixed so that it's working 'out of the box'?

The upgrade went smooth. Good job, Clem & company.

However, I discover this morning that I'm back to the branded version of Firefox. I've removed it before and installed Firefox from Mozilla's site, but my memory gets shorter every day. Wish me luck!

Just followed the process to upgrade my Xfce to 20.1 (from 20), it was quick and painless - thanks to all concerned.

The update worked perfectly. :)

Hypnotix is an interesting addition, though I noticed that for some channels the logo icon is not displayed, despite being in Free-IPTV's m3u (e.g. most of the "German TV" section).
