Linux Mint ( Serena ) Desktop Icon Issue

Post by oldsmacker » Sat Mar 18, 2017 10:23 am

I have a stock install of MINT 18.1 and just installed XAMPP to run a local web server. Created a Desktop icon to launch the XAMPP GUI Manager and found code to make this work......launcher works perfectly.
But icon is set as root and wont allow me to change the icon image and right click doesn't give me the option to change it......also installed GKSU to allow root access on GUI items but doesn't seem to give me that option...
Hope this makes sense to someone......thanks in advance :)
