Hello,
My scenario is machine1 with no gui but only terminal.
Machine 2 has a proper gui desktop, a Mint machine. I ssh to machine1 from machine2. I have gedit on machine2 which I want to use to open a file which is on machine1 .
Is it possible to do so? If yes, please let me know how to do it.
Thanks all in anticipation

Re: Running remote desktop application on a non gui machine
ssh into machine two (EDIT: machine one) via nemo with enough privileges for the task, from nemo, file - Connect to server, pick ssh and enter your server address and credentials. Then you can open a remote file via the nemo session in xed (or whatever) as per normal.
