HELP!! module assistant ndiswrapper with new kernel 2.6.20

Post by zonamint » Sun Mar 11, 2007 6:30 pm

Hi,
First of all thnx to Mint developer team, you are great people...Mint is great.
Well my sound driver is not supported in kernel 2.6.17 so i have the need to update. I download source for 2.6.20 in kernel.org website, compile it using 2.6.17 configuration files. Restart the system and my sound is working out of the box !!!! as it should . I realize my wireless connection is not working I used ndiswrapper with the Windoor$ .inf and .sys files as i did in 2.6.17 kernel (the one im using to write this) but it didnt work...i check and the wireless interface is inexistent everywhere ( Gnome Networking / ifconfig / iwconfig) ...i thought ooh ooh ohh...maybe the ndiswrapper module is not up . so...

$ modprobe ndiswrapper

And yeah i was fu**ing right! no module! So i download module-assistant from Ubuntu Edgy website (.targz file) uncompress and run the script. But it ask me for ndiswrapper sources. xxx ??
Im not SO advanced to continue with this..NEED HELP URGENTLY !!!

Thnx!

Welcome Zonamint,
I really wish I could help you with your problem, but I am not a Guru myself.
Try Scorp123. He is a really nice person and a professional too.
Greetings, Npap
