Novice at linux, wifi frustration

Post by north-channel » Fri Mar 16, 2007 11:19 am

I am trying to move from the world of MS,
Last year I got my wusb54g adapter to work with "Mandriva" and once with an older version of "Knoppix"
But since then I have had no success with Ubuntu,Mint,Mepis
I am about to give on this transition for now, or find a pci wifi adapter (best cheap one - paid $100 bucks for this one).
The other option is to hardwire this pc to router on third floor, which is do-able.
What is the best cheap pci wifi card for Mint?

Have you heard of anyone being successful with wusb54g? (I am not a programer.

drh

Frank,

My more Linux savy friends have been helping me.
I may be close with this adapter.
NDISWRAPPER had an error at line 144
maybe there is a work around the error.

Cheers,

Dave
