Connect to a 802.1x protected wired network solved

Post by chrome » Sat Nov 08, 2008 7:29 am

I`m trying to connect to the university campus wired network. It`s a protected wired network, using the IEEE 802.1x protocol and PEAP/MSCHAPv2 and username+password. My problem is that there is no Network name. Looks like it`s supposed to work in Mint, but I can not click Connect without a network name. Se attatchment...
It`s working in both XP and Vista (have to enable and disable a few things but nevertheless...).
Really would like to get internet working in Linux also.

Hope you can help me! :)

Welcome to Mint
Are you sure you can't fine a name?
What about default as a name?

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Thank you Husse!!! :-)
default actually worked. But I had to use the cable directly from the wall, the switch was making trouble...

This is about 1000 times easier than in windows.

Me like Mint!!! :-D
