I saw a couple of topics about a similar problem: the ethernet connection of linux mint is not working anymore after an update.
Running a main PC with dual boot: Win7 / LM18.1, and an ARM-board connected to the same modem/router. Until few days ago all 3 systems were able to connect to the net, now LM18.1 does not connect anymore.
As far as I remember the last update (through the Update Manager) was related to bind9.
The icon in the taskbar says it's wired connected, the connection parameters did not change, I can see IP and DNS addresses... but the network connection does not go through (Update Manager/Browser/Email app do not work).
- Live LM18.1 from an USB key can reach the network; tried with both Update Manager and Firefox.
- Tried '/etc/init.d/network-manager force-reload' from another topic, it did not solve the problem.
Wondering what could have been broken. If possible I would like to avoid to reinstall the OS...
Thanks in advance for any input/advice!
