I bought a new computer with both ethernet and WiFi. I installed Mint 18.2 64bit cinnamon and it updated over the ethernet connection with no problem.I subsequently initiated the WiFi (D-Link DWA-582) but this has stopped the ethernet from working even when the WiFi is switched off. Is there a command that I can run which will restart the ethernet? The router is a Technicolor on a fibre to cabinet connection.
Not certain how I fixed it - just turned of WiFi and tried various ifconfig commands.
