10GB Ethernet

Post by FIGG »

Does anyone know if Mint supports 10GB Ethernet connections? I didn't see anything in the forums or online specifically about Mint related to this topic. If it does anyone have any recommendations on specific NICs that they've used? I'd like to be sure this works before I spend the money on converting my home network.

Thanks,

James

I would assume that if you have the hardware for it, it will be supported in the Linux kernel. I did a search for '10GB Ethernet linux' and the first hit was titled '10 Gigabit Ethernet comes to Linux servers.' That article was dated June 7 2004, so I'm guessing that just about any Linux should support 10 GB.
