This ls Linux Mint 18.2, 64-bit.The connection is working, but the network-manager in the system tray is greyed out and reports "no connection" on mouse hover. A single click shows "Wired" and "unmanaged" with choices Network Settings and Network Connections.
Clicking on Network Settings shows a dialog window with only the Proxy setting in it. Network Connections shows a wired connection, but what is shown is not what is active, e.g. the Network Connections dialog shows a static IP address, but ifconfig reports a dynamic IP address.
