Computer disappeared off the network <IGNORE>

Post by lsemmens »

Edit: Must have dislodged a lead on the wall when I reset the modem- all happy now.

Whacko one!
My file server has suddenly dropped off the network. All my wireless devices are still visible even wife's computer and my printer that are also hard wired are still showing. My router even shows the computer has an assigned ip address at the time of the last re-boot, which was the first thing I did when it disappeared. I have even rebooted the modem. The results of inxi are a couple of weeks old, but nothing has changed. Network settings tells me that ethernet connecting, but that is all. It eventually times out and tells me I am off-line. D'uhh! If it's not connected, of course I am off line.

Suggestions, polite, or otherwise, appreciated.
