Cable network connection

Hello everybody,i am new on this forum and linnux-mint is what i use, the way programs run is rather new ,sometimes i cant fix it, just like now.
I am connected bij cable ,wifi is not connected.When i have de laptop not in use ,then after a time it wil go back to the log-on screen,when i log on again my cable connection is gone and on wifi connected ,i can not go back to my cable connection ,it wil only work when i restart my laptop.

has someone a suggestion for me too solve this problem :roll:

Bottom right hand of the screen in the panel is a network icon. Click on it, you can turn wireless off (as I have done in the screenshot below).
