Maybe this is another LM 19 growing pain.
After being plugged in (to the 'net) awhile, the whole operation bogs down, literally it took 25 seconds to switch between tabs in FF. If I am typing, (such as on this site) 10 or more seconds can go by before the characters appear on the screen. If I pull the ethernet cable, all returns to normal.
Here is some (what I think may be ) suspicious stuff from the log:
Code: Select all
(cinnamon:1199): Clutter-WARNING **: 20:38:32.810: Unable to use the ShaderEffect: the graphics hardware or the current GL driver does not implement support for the GLSL shading language.
Nemo-Share-Message: 20:39:11.865: Called "net usershare info" but it failed: 'net usershare' returned error 255: mkdir failed on directory /var/run/samba/msg.lock: Permission denied
net usershare: cannot open usershare directory /var/lib/samba/usershares. Error No such file or directory
Please ask your system administrator to enable user sharing.
And this:

Maybe all that stuff means nothing vis-a-vis this problem. Yet it sure is weird; there is by the way no camera present on this machine.
This is truly bizarre.
Thanks
