Hiyall,
I will shortly get my new(!) ADSL2+ modem setup (prelude to fibre). I have 2 NAS drives that I want to connect to a Win7 PC and then on to a Mint 19.1 laptop + wireless. In the past, I have outlaid several hundred dollars for 'experts' to come here and do it for me. Only once did they get it completely right.
Is there a definitive document that I can access so I can learn how to do it myself once and for all?

Re: networking for idiots
"Computer Networks" by Andrew Tanenbaum is a decent primer -- though what *exactly* are you after?

Re: networking for idiots
Thanx for the book recommendation.
I started to read it and found most of it, while interesting, doesn't help me set up my computer network. I need a book that says: "do this then do that, etc.

Thanks RIH, much appreciated. It'll be my main reading for a while.

Good links, good info...but it is all for Windows. Nothing there for Linux.
