I am having a rather strange problem. I have a desktop computer set up to dual boot Linux Mint 18.3 and Linux Mint 19.3. I have not booted up mint 18.3 for several months and thought it might be a good idea to update it, but I could not access the internet.
It was working fine the last time I booted it up. The computer is hardwire connected to the router and linux mint 19.3 works fine, accesses the internet normally as do other computers on the network that are connected via wifi. I have gone over all my settings and can find nothing wrong.
I have included a printout of the ifconfig file for both mint 18.3 and mint 19.3 in case someone can find something I have missed:

I have compared the network configuration for both systems and they are the same.
Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
