Wireless and Wired internet problem

Post by billgoldberg » Fri Sep 07, 2007 5:24 am

When I try to connect to my wireless network network manager saw but didn't connected. I used to have the same problem in ubuntu 7.04 but use wicd manager to connect. In Mint wicd manager connects to the wireless network but I can't seem to get on the internet in firefox or other browsers/applications. What to do?

So for a couple of day i have to use a wired connection but i have the same problem I had with Ubuntu 7.04. The internet is really slow. Sometimes its fast, really fast. But most of the time it takes ages to load pictures from sites or even connect to the site. I tried changing dns nameservers from 192.168.x.x to my isp dns servers, this didn't worked. Help, this a MAJOR problem.

Welcome to Mint billgoldberg
Agreed, this is major
Have you tried to follow the wiki for wireless?
http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php/MintWifi
And which kernel do you use? A change from 2.6.20-16 to -15 may help you

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

I fixed the wireless problem. I used the 128 wep key instead of the 64. Haha, my bad.
