Ulyssa 20.1 MATE feels sluggish [SOLVED]
I haved just installed Ulyssa 20.1 MATE (alongside Sylvia/Sonya) on my PC. First impressions: sluggish, not as fast as previous distros, slow to boot and shut down, slow to open some pages and experiencing the odd freeze. Does it need polishing? Is anybody out there having similar problems? Thanks for any advice.

Others don't seem to have all thdse ptoblems, try posting some useful system into in another thread and ask a specific question.

Re: Ulyssa 20.1 MATE feels sluggish
Thanks for your reply. I'll try somewhere else. With Sylvia everything was running beautifully on my PC (32-bit/64-bit compatible) but unfortunately, its end of life is coming up soon... I beg to differ, others DO have issues like mine. Have u read other threads?

Or in this one. I can move the thread if you like, OP. Just let me know. But yeah, please add some system information... for example, the output of the command
Code: Select all
infi -Fzx

Re: Ulyssa 20.1 MATE feels sluggish
That's not going to work, we can't see a file that is on your computer, and that is a good thing.
The output is text, so can you copy and post it as text?

Slow, old hardware. This should speed things up a bit, but don't expect miracles on that ageing machine:
