Netgear VPN

Post by jonsteckelberg »

I am trying to connect to a netgear vpn with my Mint 13 laptop.
I can navigate to the ip address in my browser and log into the netgear model FVS 336G.
It then askes me to click on an icon to install the client software.

I click on the icon and it starts to run the applet but then.
It says I need to install as root.
Screenshot2.jpg
It looks like this is an applet that I need to run as root.
I am not sure how to run this as root, when I click on the icon it just starts not giving me any options.
Any help is appricieated.
Thanks
Jon

This presumably is Windows software? If so it is not going to work in linux. Network Manager has built in vpn support but you need to know more details about the type of vpn and the protocols used.

I was assuming that since the discription indicates that I need root that it is a linux program.
