I have installed Linux Mint 15 cinnamon on my laptop. My wife has Ubuntu 13.4 install on her own.
OBJECTIVE: To view and edit each others files from each other laptops.
I wanted to see my wife's files and vice-versa, so I selected a folder on my laptop and selected to share that folder - careful to tick the option to allow for edit and etc; we did the same on my wife's laptop. As a result, I can view and edit her shared files from my laptop. However, using her laptop, although I can see my shared folders, when ask for a username and password, although I supply the correct information, I cannot pass the password authentication window although the password is correct. I see the folders out there, but I can't pass this password problem although I know my own password. What am I doing wrong? Why is it working for my wife's laptop (Ubuntu 13.04) but not working correctly with Linux Mint 15 cinnamon (my own laptop)?
